The operation to unload the ship "Vera Su" which got stranded on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast almost a month ago near the Yaylata protected area has started, the Bulgarian Ministry of Transport announced. The operation is expected to last 3-4 days. Due to the short good weather window, the operation will be conducted 24 hours a day.

A barge with external hydraulics is attached to the stranded ship. It will control the opening and closing of the storage facility and the overall operation of the vessel because the engine room of the Vera Su ship is flooded.

The liquid urea fertilizer will be pumped into the three barges provided by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and will be transshipped to the specialized tanker GALAXY ECO.
