Strong wind causes delay in Vera Su unloading

Photo: Rumen Sarandev

The weather conditions in the area of "Yailata" have worsened because of strong winds. This causes delay in the start of unloading the dangerous cargo from the ship.

The urea has already liquefied in the front cargo section. The other part of the cargo is partially wet, the director of the Maritime Administration, Captain Ventsislav Ivanov said. Experts hope that there is enough solid fertilizer that can be transported to the shore. It is expected that some of the cargo will be unloaded today. Experts will assess whether the ship needs some reinforcement.

If the strong wind continues, it is expected that the next possibility for starting the operation will emerge after October 25.
