Bulgaria takes over rotating chairmanship of Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA

Caretaker Minister of Transport Hristo Alexiev took over, on behalf of Bulgaria, the rotating chairmanship of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA, which aims to develop the international transport corridor Europe-the Caucasus-Asia.

 "The removal of institutional and legal barriers to transport and international trade; the development of the railway and automotive sectors, rail and ferry connections; as well as the development of maritime ​​routes and multimodal transport along the East-West corridor, are among our main priorities", Minister Alexiev said at the ceremony.

The modernization of the transport links with Turkey and the ports of Varna and Burgas under the TRACECA initiative are of particular importance for Bulgarian, Hristo Alexiev noted.
