If we introduce a full lockdown in Bulgaria now, we will have to do it again in several months. Everyone must show higher responsibilty in this situation, this country’s President Rumen Radev said in the town of Plovdiv (Central South Bulgaria) at a meeting with medical students.

They asked Bulgaria's head of state what he would propose to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. "The answer is very complicated, because it has economic and social aspects. The Delta Plus Covid variant is highly contagious and causes serious damages. We must find the right balance- to protect people and save lives without damaging the state", President Radev added. In his words, the consequences of a complete lockdown would be disastrous.
