The baseline reproduction number that shows the spread of the infection during the pandemic has remained below 1.3 for a second day. On the morning of November 1 it is 1.13. This means that while the spread of the infection continues, it is happening at a pace that the health care system can cope with, although great efforts would be needed. This is what mathematician of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Nikolay Vitanov, wrote in his social profile.

The good news should not calm us down as the health system is currently overloaded and the figures show that the situation will continue to be critical this week.

The models show some weakening of the diffuse spread of the coronavirus, which gives hope that lockdown could be avoided, the scientist says.
