Bulgaria reports 5,863 new cases of Covid-19 out of 44,814 tests performed

5,863 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours out of 44,814 tests performed, data of coronavirus.bg show. 13% of the tests have returned positive result. 86.51% of the new Covid-19 cases are among unvaccinated. There are 105,543 active cases of Covid-19. 8,149 patients are being treated in hospital, 696 of them are in intensive care units. 90% of the new hospitalizations are among unvaccinated.

145 people have died and 2,587 have been reported cured in the past day. 91% of the Covid-19 deaths are among unvaccinated. The fourteen-day mortality in Bulgaria has reached 26 Covid-19 deaths per 100,000 people, which is the highest indicator since the beginning of 2021.

18,804 vaccines were administered in Bulgaria on Tuesday. A total of 1,528,975 citizens in Bulgaria are now fully vaccinated.
