Mihail Belchev celebrates birth anniversary on his name day

Mihail Belchev is among the most popular and beloved artists in Bulgaria’s pop music. He is a poet, a singer and an author of dozens of music hits. In August, Mihail Belchev turned 75.He marks his birth anniversary with a concert at Hall 1 at the National Palace of Culture on November 8, the Day of St. Michael the Archangel, when he celebrates his name day. He has invited colleagues from different generations to take part at his concert. Here is what he told journalist Zheni Moneva from the Bulgarian National Radio:

“I believe that the audience will enjoy the concert. Poetry and music will “rule” tonight. I hope that people will feel well and that they will forget about their problems at least for a while. I am happy that I can bring together audience, friends, colleagues and everyone who loves Bulgarian music. ”

Mihail Belchev has been singing for more than 50 years. As a singer and a song- writer, he received a dozens of prizes, as well as major state awards. He is a laureate of the Order of St. Cyril and Methodius pendant for his significant contribution to the field of culture. He is also a laureate of Stara Planina Order. Like any artist, he truly appreciates the recognition of the audience.

“Every song of mine tells a legend. Most of them are alive and help people remember meetings, breakups, love stories, etc. “Ne ostaryavay lyubov (Love, Don’t Grow Old)”, “We can have many women”. “Youth is Gone”, and other emblematic songs went deep in peoples’ souls. I am happy that I still have the opportunity to perform them on stage.”
