Velichka Nedyalkova from Bulgaria has received the prestigious award of the International Olympic Committee for “overall merit”. The Golden Rings prizes are awarded for best coverage of the Tokyo Olympics. She is the only holder of an “overall merit” award.
“I find it difficult to put into words what this prize means to me. I started out by covering the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980, and have, by now, covered 10 summer and 10 winter games,” Velichka Nedyalkova said.
