The Ministry of Health will propose, to the government, that the emergency epidemiological situation be extended by 4 to 6 months. It also states that there will be no lockdown in the country due to the decline in the 4th Covid-19 wave.

“The decline in the number of Covid-19 infections is a success for us all. We have not been staking on fear, we have not been trying to scare people so they will observe the restrictions. All this time we have been insisting that we want the people with a sense of responsibility and with rational thinking to accept that this is a mission we all share,” said caretaker Minister of Health Stoycho Katsarov at a briefing.

Prof. Mira Kozhuharova, advisor to Minister Katsarov, on her part stated that more than 180,000 vials of Remdesivir have so far been purchased for patients with severe Covid-19.

There is a sufficient number of tests now for 1st to 4th grade students nationwide, the Ministry of Education announced. Another 121,000 tests have been provided for the remaining 11 regions of the country which were left without the tests they need.
