The number of new infections is decreasing and the number of vaccinated and tested citizens is increasing. The green certificates, as they were introduced, have done their job, Bulgaria's Minister of Health Stoycho Katsarov told Nova TV. Most importantly, the measures are accepted by society. Green certificates should continue to be required until most people are vaccinated, the minister stressed.

"If there is a fifth wave, and we have vaccinated 70-80% of the population, there will be far fewer deaths," Katsarov added. "Sooner or later in Bulgaria, as in Europe, you will need to be vaccinated to go anywhere to work, but there is no need for vaccination to be mandatory if people accept that it is necessary", said the Minister.
