Spectacular vintage deep-sea diving demonstrations will take place from the bridge in Burgas on 6 December, Nikulden, the Day of St. Nicholas.

The event, which is taking place at the initiative of the “Friends of the sea-Burgas” association, will begin at 11.30 AM. The divers will use an original diving-suit from the 1960s. It weighs 90 kilograms, has a brass helmet with three “portholes”. The suit has an “umbilical cable” bringing in air from dry land. Besides the demonstrations, anyone who is a diver and wants to try the suit on will be able to do so and dive down to a depth of 4 metres, where they will be able to see the seabed near the bridge close-up.

The organizers warn that if poor atmospheric conditions prevail, the event will not take place for safety reasons, BNR-Burgas reports.
