Bulgaria has gone through the fourth wave of coronavirus pandemic without imposing a national lockdown, this country’s caretaker Minister of Health Stoycho Katsarov said for Nova TV.

Currently, many European countries are introducing a full lockdown, minister Katsarov added. 90% of the Covid-19 deaths in Bulgaria are among people over 60 and the unvaccinated.

"However, vaccination must remain voluntary", Stoycho Katsarov noted. In his words, a green certificate should become mandatory to enter the National Assembly. "Thus, the MPs will serve as an example. I am calling on the members of Parliament to adopt such a decision”. Minister Katsarov further said.
