Bulgaria retains its position on North Macedonia

Bulgaria’s position regarding the start of accession negotiations between the European Union and North Macedonia remains unchanged, representatives of this country’s Council of Ministers said for BGNES. “Bulgaria will adhere to the declaration adopted by the National Assembly on October 10, 2019, which reads that this country expects from North Macedonia to implement the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation of 2017”, Bulgaria’s Council of Ministers clarified. According to BGNES, Bulgaria will defend this position at the General Affairs Council on December 14 in Brussels.

According to Bulgaria’s government, each applicant country should be appraised by its own merits and Albania is ready to achieve progress on its path towards the EU.
