Twenty-two dogs from the Sofia-based municipal enterprise Ecoravnovesie have left for Germany today, where their new owners are waiting for them, the Sofia Municipality announced.

In 2021, more than 220 dogs from the shelter for stray animals have left for Germany and the Netherlands under agreements signed between the Sofia Municipality and environmental organizations, the reporter of the Bulgarian National Radio Evelina Stoyanova informed.

According to Ecoravnovesie, Bulgarians adopt mainly baby dogs, while Germans prefer adult pets. The dogs that left today for Germany are among the oldest inhabitants of the municipal shelter. They lived in the animal shelter for eight or nine years.
