National Assembly Speaker Nikola Minchev is convening an extraordinary sitting of Bulgaria’s Parliament on Monday, December 13. The National Assembly is expected to elect the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, adopt the structure of the Council of Ministers and elect its members.

On Saturday, December 11, the political formation “We Continue the Change” which placed first at the early general elections in November 2021, proposed the composition of a coalition cabinet with the participation of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, “There is Such a People” and “Democratic Bulgaria”. The second-largest Parliamentary force GERB has already stated that they would not support the prospective cabinet.
