Bulgaria’s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev expects a European response to the intention of the new government to close the Specialized Court and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office. “ I am in a constant contact with the Head of the European Public Prosecutor's Office Laura Kövesi”, Ivan Geshev said in the National Assembly. "What I do know from our personal conversation is that she is satisfied with the work of the Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office," Ivan Geshev noted

In his words, in the last six months the Ministry of Interior has focused on 1-2 things which led to the lack of results. ”It is not true that the prosecutors did not cooperate with the investigating police officers”, Ivan Geshev said in connection with the investigation into the money laundering scheme regarding the construction of Hemus motorway. Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev met with this country‘s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev in the National Assembly, a reporter of the Bulgarian National Radio informed.
