PM Petkov talks to Secretary of State Antony Blinken

The United States support the priorities of the new Bulgarian government

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Kiril Petkov held a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. He congratulated Petkov on the successful formation of the new government. Blinken expressed US support for the priorities of the new cabinet focusing on the rule of law and anti-corruption reforms, as well as greater energy diversification and independence.

"The Secretary of State expressed the gratitude of the United States for Bulgaria as a reliable ally and partner. Blinken reaffirmed the United States' desire to expand its partnership with Bulgaria in new areas such as carbon-free energy sources, defense modernization, 5G networks security and other regional issues," the press office of the Council of Ministers reported.
