Electricity price reaches new record high of 343 euro/MWh at Bulgarian energy exchange

The price of electricity with a delivery tomorrow has reached 670 levs /343 euros/ per megawatt hour on the Bulgarian energy exchange. This set a record for a day ahead trading. The exchange and the Electricity System Operator explained to BNR that up to 600 megawatt hours of electricity are currently imported from Greece, thus using the maximum connectivity capacity.

At the same time, Bulgaria exports about 1,800 megawatt hours, most of it to Romania and the rest to Serbia, North Macedonia and Greece.
