5.7% coronavirus positivity rate in Bulgaria in past day

1,966 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours out of 34,596 tests performed, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show. 5.7% of the tests have returned positive result. 78.54% of the new Covid-19 cases are among the unvaccinated. 

4,104 patients are being treated in hospital, as 479 of them are in intensive care units. 399 patients have been admitted to hospital in the past day. 86.97% of the new hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated. 

77 people with established coronavirus infection have died and 1,240 have been reported cured in the past day.

The highest number of new cases were reported in Sofia-521, followed by Plovdiv-181, Varna-157 and Burgas-136.

13,930 vaccines were administered on Thursday. 1,896,565 people have completed their vaccination cycle. 250,5959 have had a booster shot.
