The traditional New Year’s concert is to take place tonight, at hall No. 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.

The concert, entitled “Music from the two Americas”, features the Festival Symphony Orchestra with conductor Maestro Emil Tabakov. Tonight’s music programme will sweep through the US and Mexico to reach Brazil, with symphony pieces, operas, arias, jazz, Broadway musicals and Argentine tango.

The concert has been taking place every year since 1986, when it was founded by conductor Emil Tchakarov, with the only exception of last year, when it was dropped due to Covid-19.
