Bulgaria reports 1,076 new cases of Covid-19, more than 14% of tests return positive

Bulgaria has registered 1,076 new cases of coronavirus with 7,429 tests performed, according to data from the National Coronavirus Information Portal at midnight. 14.48% of the samples taken returned positive, which is the highest percentage since October 22, 2021.

The active cases in the country now stand at 104,692.
28 persons died of the infection during the last 24 hours, 114 were reported to have recovered.
4,059 persons with Covid-19 are now in hospital, 144 of whom are new admissions. 449 patients are in intensive care units.
446 vaccine jabs were administered on the first day of the new year. 1,914,966 persons have completed the vaccination cycle and 275,398 have received a booster dose of the vaccine.
