The Gorata.bg association and Turnovo Runs handed out 12,000 saplings of decorative, fruit, coniferous and deciduous trees in Veliko Turnovo.

Most of the saplings are 40 to 120 cms. high, an optimal height making them easy to plant and take root, there are some which are up to 2 m. in height. The organizers will also advise the members of the public who take saplings on how to plant and take care of the trees. Thanks to initiatives such as this one, more than 1.6 million trees have been planted nationwide.

“Together, we shall approach out target of 3 million trees in Bulgaria by 2050,” the organizers say.
