Weather forecast for Tuesday 18 January: Windy and cold

During the night a cold front will sweep across the country with a strong Northwesterly wind. Occasional snow is expected, from North to South. Minimum temperatures 3°, 2° C. below zero, for Sofia around 3° C. below zero.

Tomorrow the weather will continue windy, though the wind will subside to moderate, in the Danubian Plain and the western portion of the Upper Thracian Plain the wind will be temporarily strong, from the northwest. There will be changeable clouds, considerable in the morning over the Eastern and mountainous regions where there will be occasional snow. The afternoon will be predominantly sunny over most of the country. Maximum temperatures will drop to 1°, 6° C., for Sofia around 1° C.

There will be a strong to tempestuous, in the higher reaches, Northwesterly wind. Temperatures will drop considerably to reach a maximum, at 1,200 m. of 7° C below zero, at 2,000 m. – around 12° C below zero.
