Brussels believes there is progress in relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia

A European diplomat stated there was progress regarding Bulgaria’s veto on North Macedonia’s EU accession negotiations, BNR’s correspondent in Brussels Anguelina Piskova reports.

In the words of the diplomat, concretion of Brussels believes there is progress in relations between Bulgaria and North Macedoniathis fact will be sought so the negotiations can begin when conditions permit. The EU is in contact with the governments of the two countries so the stages can be mapped out after the visit by Bulgarian PM Kiril Petkov to North Macedonia. However, the issue will not be discussed at the General Affairs Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, the diplomat added.
