11 professional organizations in stockbreeding are demanding an urgent meeting with the prime minister, and the ministers of finance and agriculture.

In a letter sent to the institutions they are demanding a reduction of VAT on dairy and meat products and on fodder for animal feed. The budget for the sector must be doubled, and the compensations for the Covid pandemic should be no less than EUR 300,000, to be paid out immediately, they write. The stockbreeders also demand the immediate payment of the subsidies for this year’s campaign.

“If our demands are not met, the stockbreeders branch states it is ready to organize a nationwide protest,” the letter reads.
