President Vladimir Putin has ordered his military to put Russia’s nuclear deterrence forces on high alert, the correspondent of the BNR in Moscow Angel Grigorov informed.
According to the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense, “the strategic defense forces are designed to deter aggression against Russia and its allies, as well as to defeat the aggressor, including in a war with the use of nuclear weapons”.
“Not only are Western countries implementing illegitimate sanctions against Russia, but senior officials of leading NATO countries are allowing themselves to make aggressive comments directed at our country”, Vladimir Putin said for the public TV broadcaster.
The White House replied that Russian President Vladimir Putin was manufacturing threats. This is a dangerous rhethoric and an irresponsible behavior, NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said and added that “We have to realise we are now faced with a new normal for our security.”
