Bulgaria is terminating its membership of the International Investment Bank and the International Bank for Economic Cooperation over the Russian aggression in Ukraine, Lena Borislavova, head of the political cabinet of the prime minister announced at a briefing.
The two banks were established in Moscow and are better known as the banks of the former Council for Mutual Economic Assistance, or Comecon. Russia remains their biggest shareholder.
Lena Borislavova also announced that the government will help Ukraine with tents, sleeping bags, camp beds, stationary electricity generators, antibiotics and analgesics. The convoys transporting the humanitarian aid will be exempt from tolls.
