Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry has declared two Russian diplomats accredited to Bulgaria personae non gratae and has given them 48 hours to leave the country, said at a briefing the director of the press centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mitko Dimitrov. According to him, the two have carried out intelligence activities incompatible with their diplomatic status on the territory of Bulgaria.

Earlier today, Russian Ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova was summoned to the ministry to receive two notes, but she sent diplomat Filip Voskresensky. With the first note, Bulgaria declares the two employees of the Russian embassy as personas non grata, and with the second note the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly protests against the embassy's publications with insulting qualifications and suggestions towards Bulgaria and its allies.
"The language used is incompatible with diplomatic practice and social norms and is an unequivocal insult to Bulgaria,"  Mitko Dimitrov said

Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry urges the Russian embassy to immediately remove the publications and apologize.
