President Rumen Radev urged Bulgarian parliament to quickly solve the problem of issuing identity documents to Bulgarians from the historical diaspora.

Radev visited the Danube Bridge border crossing in Ruse to welcome refugees fleeing the war. Ukrainian citizens must be given the opportunity to actively participate in the labour market and enjoy all other rights and services, he said, stressing that this should be part of Bulgaria's demographic policy.

According to President Radev, Bulgaria has grounds to be a venue for negotiations between the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine, but this should be done in coordination with the EU.

He reiterated his point that Russia can win the war but will not win the peace because peace is not won by aggression.
