North Macedonia closes its border to Macedonians driving cars with Bulgarian license plates

Hundreds of Macedonians with dual Bulgarian citizenship are once again being banned from entering North Macedonia with their Bulgaria registered vehicles, said Petar Kolev, leader of the Civic Democratic Union in North Macedonia.
"The free movement of people, goods and capital is a founding principle of the EU, but not for North Macedonia," Kolev commented.
Among those affected are employees of Bulgarian companies who cannot enter the country in their company cars.
Customs officials give fabricated explanations for customs violations. No one has received an official written document explaining why they cannot enter North Macedonia, Kolev said.
He advised the victims to file complaints with the Bulgarian embassy in Skopje.
