The EU and NATO are united as never before, Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska told the ambassadors of the EU and NATO countries in Bulgaria. At a working breakfast in Sofia today, Genchovska pointed out that Bulgaria's foreign policy priorities remain unchanged and even apply with greater force in terms of the current dramatic events. Bulgaria's membership in the EU and NATO is a civilisational choice, a foundation of national security and a guarantee for prosperity and well-being, she added.
On the situation in Ukraine, Genchovska reminded that Bulgaria had joined the common EU humanitarian efforts. We are giving asylum and assistance to all Ukrainian refugees who have sought help in Bulgaria, the minister said.
Teodora Genchovska commented that Sofia would continue to provide unwavering support to the Western Balkan countries for their European integration, based on the principle of merit.
