The government will not extend beyond March 31, 2022, the period of the extraordinary epidemic situation introduced in the country, the government press service said.

After two years of the country being under an epidemic emergency, the situation is currently being monitored and managed in a predictable manner. There is no need to extend the deadline and keep restrictions on citizens and businesses, was the reason for the decision.

"We will still have to wear masks indoors and on public transport even after the epidemic situation has been lifted," said the chairman of the parliamentary health committee, associate professor Anton Tonev.
