The Ministry of Interior has announced 116 cases of high public interest in which there has been no movement by the prosecution.

According to the ministry, the cases involve public figures holding senior positions in state and municipal administrations, including the Prosecutor General, the leadership of the BNB, the caretaker Health Minister, the chief architect of Sofia, and an MP.

The files also concern the construction of Hemus motorway, the case of extortion of businessman Vasil Bozhkov and "The Eight Dwarves" case on the signal of Svetoslav Ilchovski that GERB party put pressure on his business.

For its part, the prosecutor's office described the Interior Ministry’s report as "another unilateral attack by the executive against the judiciary".
