Bulgarian projects are among the finalists for Natura 2000 awards

The European Commission has announced 21 finalists in the 6th edition of the Natura 2000 European Awards. The finalists are from 13 countries. The winners will be the finalists who will receive the most support from the public vote on May 18. The finalists will also be judged by an expert jury in the categories - "Land Protection", "Sea Protection", "Communication", "Socio-Economic Benefits" and "Cross-Border Cooperation".

Among the Bulgarian proposals are Persina Nature Park with a pelican conservation project, the Griffon Vulture and Black Vulture Population Development Initiative in the Eastern Rhodopes and the New Horizons communication initiative.
