Truck drivers parked their heavy goods vehicles in front of the Bulgarian National Assembly and blocked a central boulevard. This action was taken after the MPs dropped the decision on payments to the Road Infrastructure Agency from their agenda.

Regional Development Minister Grozdan Karadjov spoke to the protesters and explained that money for road repairs was blocked by "political haggling".

Prime Minister Kiril Petkov also came out in front of parliament and met with protesters. He assured them that the problem will be considered and solved by parliament next week.

The prosecutor's office has reported to the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works that an inspection has found numerous irregularities which endanger road safety.
