The Czech company Škoda can do the maintenance at Kozloduy nuclear power plant, nuclear physicist Professor Georgi Kaschiev said for the BNT. Two weeks ago, a Bulgarian delegation visited the company's headquarters to study the possibility.

Bulgarian experts will also visit Temelin NPP, which has the same nuclear reactor units as the Kozloduy NPP. The two nuclear power plants will coordinate efforts to address the challenges stemming from the war in Ukraine, the expert said.

The quality of Škoda is guaranteed, because the company is a traditional manufacturer of nuclear equipment. So far, Rosatom has dully fulfilled its contractual obligations, but the Kremlin has started to use Russian companies as a geopolitical tool, Georgi Kaschiev said.
