The ruling coalition will announce a package of anti-crisis measures within 2 weeks, Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev said for the BNR. In his words, Bulgaria has provided nearly EUR 2 billion to help businesses cope with soaring energy prices. Compensation for gas consumers is lower, because Bulgaria imports natural gas. Bulgaria also needs to adopt measures aimed to help people cope with fuel prices, Minister Vassilev further said.

In  Assen Vassilev’s words, it is not appropriate to change the governor of the Bulgarian National Bank in times of severe crises and financial instability. The country’s fiscal reserve amounts to more than EUR 4 billion, Deputy Premier Vassilev pointed out.
