Bulgaria's Honorary Consul to Ukraine Sergei Zhelev has not been kidnapped in Melitopol, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BNR. Earlier, Ukrainian media released the information, citing a Telegram post by Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fyodorov.

He is an honorary consul of the Republic of Bulgaria based in Zaporizhia with a consular district covering the territory of Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the ministry specified.
