"There is a real risk that the war in Ukraine may escalate into a European, or even a world war. There are politicians who are ready to make this dangerous step: to put Bulgaria’s future at stake in the interest of their own gains", the country’s President Rumen Radev said in an address to the nation on occasion of May 1- Labor Day.

“It is our patriotic duty to prevent the country from getting involved in war. We must not succumb to militaristic appeals that precede each bloodshed. We must not allow militaristic passions in Bulgaria. We must not tolerate political charlatans who incite these passions for their own purposes”, Bulgaria’s head of state Radev said.
