A British company of over 120 members of the Royal Irish Regiment has arrived in Bulgaria on May 6. It will train with the Bulgarian military and NATO allies to increase interoperability,  Bulgaria's Defence Ministry announced. Britain supports Bulgaria's efforts to strengthen its defence in the context of the Russian attack on Ukraine, said the British Embassy in Sofia.

Italy is ready to send up to 800 troops to Bulgaria, said the Chief of Defense Adm. Emil Eftimov. Rome will provide the basic set of capabilities for building a much more functional battle group and will take over its command. Bulgaria will continue to participate in the group, but on a smaller scale, the admiral said.
