The ruling coalition has no worries about a possible no-confidence motion from the opposition because of the problems in the energy sector and social policy, the Speaker of the 47th National Assembly Nikola Minchev from We Continue the Change party told journalists.

He pointed out that the 2022 budget was "extremely social", but the moment it was approved, war broke out in Ukraine, which had a negative impact on everyone, Minchev said.

According to Minchev, the war and the subsequent soaring inflation have "lessened" the effect of the budget on those affected. He did not comment on whether specific measures were being discussed in the coalition.

During question time in parliament, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Asen Vassilev said that an anti-crisis aid programme for people and businesses is currently being discussed. He said he hoped it would be ready early next week.
