Bulgaria's Supreme Judicial Council has unanimously postponed the consideration of the proposals for dismissal of the country's Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev, made by the caretaker Minister of Justice Yanaki Stoilov and the current Minister of Justice Nadezhda Yordanova.

According to the SJC member Boyan Magdalinchev, the decision of the Supreme Administrative Court regarding the appeal of the Minister of Justice against the refusal of the SJC to consider some of the grounds for removal of the state prosecutor should be awaited.

Before the hearing, however, Nadezhda Yordanova said there should be a debate on the merits of the admissible grounds, despite the pending case.

Meanwhile, the Boets civil association submitted a petition to the SJC for Ivan Geshev's resignation, signed by 10,000 citizens.
