Parvan Simeonov: If Bulgarians are humiliated over North Macedonia that would be the last straw for the public’s patience

The public in Bulgaria do not want elections because they do not see an alternative, so they are still giving the current government a chance. “The government has a chance to remain in power, and all those predicting its fall are getting ahead of themselves,” Parvan Simeonov, executive director of Gallup International Balkan said for the BNR.

According to the sociologist, the main opposition party GERB is mobilized, though it is not increasing its support and is patiently waiting for events to play out. If the question of North Macedonia is to enter parliament, the decision would probably be up to the votes from GERB, Parvan Simeonov says, and cautions that if Bulgarians are humiliated over North Macedonia, that would constitute the last straw for the public’s patience.
