President Radev bestows distinctions on prominent Bulgarians before May 24

President Rumen Radev presented high state awards to renowned Bulgarians in the sphere of culture. Traditionally, this happens before May 24 - the Day of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education, culture and of Slavic literature.

Writer and chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Writers Boyan Angelov, actress Ilka Zafirova and the journalist and publisher Bozhidar Nikolov received the "Saints Cyril and Methodius” Order.

Prominent artist in Bulgarian folk art and traditions Violeta Karapeeva was awarded the Order of "Saints Cyril and Methodius ”- second degree.

The great conductor Borislav Ivanov was posthumously awarded the Stara Planina Order - first degree. The award was accepted by his son Borislav Ivanov.
