State-owned guesthouses and accommodation facilities registered in the National Tourist Register will be eligible to participate in the new humanitarian program for housing people with temporary protection, the government press service said.

The new programme will provide 15 leva per person per day for accommodation and three meals. "We are aware that the programme will mainly include lower-rated types of accommodation such as family hotels and guest houses," Deputy Prime Minister for Good Governance Kalina Konstantinova said in a video address.
The one- or two-star establishments have nearly 175,000 beds. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the measure has so far provided shelter to tens of thousands of Ukrainian mothers with children and financially supported a number of businesses hit hard by the Covid crisis.
