Recovery Plan funds tied to Sofia’s veto on North Macedonia's EU membership

According to BNR sources, the funding Bulgaria expects to receive under the Recovery and Resilience Plan will be linked to the country's position on the North Macedonia case.

Similar messages have already been conveyed at a meeting of a representative of the French government with the parliamentary groups of the ruling coalition.

At the moment, preparations are underway for Prime Minister Kiril Petkov's visit to France, where he will meet Emmanuel Macron before the end of the French European presidency.

Despite the initial idea that the meeting with the French president should be attended by Rumen Radev, the Bulgarian head of state said today that there were no conditions for his visit to Paris as no progress has been made on the open issues between Sofia and Skopje.
