In mid-March we told you about the first international exhibition by artist Ivan Milev, which opened at Bulgaria gallery in Rome, to mark 125 years since the birth of the painter.
At the time, the director of the Art Gallery in Kazanluk, Dr. Plamen Petrov said a big catalogue was being prepared presenting Ivan Milev’s works to a broader audience for the first time. The album is now ready, and it was officially presented at the Sofia City Art Gallery. The luxury catalogue is in Bulgarian and in English, and features 80 works selected by Adelina Fileva, director of the Sofia City Art Gallery and V. Petrov, author of the foreword, so as to best present the artist.
The album also includes memories of Ivan Milev by people who knew him, illustrating his original talent. The catalogue’s cover features a detail from Ivan Milev’s Achinora, and on the turquoise-coloured hardback there is a magnificent, 100% cotton paper Giclée print of the whole picture.
