EUR 813 is the average monthly salary in the private sector in Bulgaria

The total average income per household member during the first quarter of 2022 stood at 2005.54 Leva /EUR 1,025.14/, up by 9.6% compared to the same quarter of 2021, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy data indicate.

In the total incomes structure, salaries account for the highest relative share (56.9%), followed by incomes from pensions (30.9%) and self-employment (4.9%).

The average monthly salary in the private sector during the same period is 1,591 Leva /EUR 813.47/, 11.6% up on the first quarter of 2021, and in the public sector – 1,598 Leva /EUR 817.04/, up by 1.8 %.
