Police officers and prison guards are protesting in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia. They gathered in front of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice and organized a procession to the National Assembly building.

The Trade Union Federation of the Employees in the Ministry of Interior insists that salaries increase with at least 25% and states that they will not back down from these demands. The police officers are also dissatisfied with the development of the reform in the sector.

Prison guards are not happy with their pay either. In their words, no people are willing to work in the system due to poor working conditions and low wages.
