People with disabilities to protest in front of the Ministry of Health

People with disabilities are to protest in front of the Ministry of Health today. They are calling for access to medical treatment, as well as for objective and rapid medical opinion and assessment of disabilities taking into consideration all illnesses. They also insist that rare diseases be treated with money from the National Health Insurance Fund.

Currently, people are waiting for three months to get an appointment with a Medical Expert Commission for Work Capability Assessment. 90% of people with rare diseases pay for their medicines, Pavlina Grigorova, author of a petition calling for attention to people with disabilities, said for the BNR.
